Who are we?

Nike Retail B.V., a company incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands with its registered address at Colosseum 1, 1213 NL Hilversum (hereafter also: "Nike" or "We") is responsible for the processing of your personal data obtained (a) on or via our European Nike websites (hereafter: "Nike EU Website(s)") and (b) on or via the use of the Nike+ or other Nike applications available on mobile devices (hereinafter: "Nike Mobile Applications")

Nike Group

We are a daughter company of Nike Inc., with headquarters in the USA. Nike, Inc. and all European and USA affiliates involved in the distribution and sale of Nike branded products will hereafter be referred to as "Nike Group Companies" or "Nike Group". All websites relating to Nike products or the Nike brand will hereafter be referred to as "Nike Sites".

Collecting information.

When you visit Nike's EU Websites or use Nike Mobile Applications, we obtain personal information which you knowingly disclose to us. We request information when you make purchases, which may include name, address, telephone number, email address, gender or credit card information, when you request a catalogue, request to receive communications, when you register/sign up to become a Nike member, or when you participate in any other website service or become a registered user of a mobile application.

If you sign up as a Nike.com member and you expressly opt-in to receive personalized communications by email or sms, we will use your personal information to create a user profile. In this context we may combine the info you give us online with other information from Nike sources, transactions and communications collected or processed by any Nike Group Company.

This may include data from the specific EU Website, any other Nike.com Websites, from specific Nike Mobile Applications, physical Nike stores, direct mail, on- and offline events, on- and offline contests or online marketing.

Once you become a member, the data actively submitted by you on a Nike EU Website and on other Nike Sites will be registered in the central Nike database in the USA.

Once you register to use a Nike Mobile Application, the data actively submitted by you when registering via the Nike Mobile Application will be registered in the central Nike database in the USA.

Using information

Sharing Information for Nike Business.

The personal information actively submitted by you on our EU Websites or via the Nike Mobile Applications will be used for the purpose for which you have specifically submitted them, such as the execution of your purchase order, participation in a contest, receiving information, etc. We may also use this information, and any info collected by means of cookies or pixel tags to improve our EU Websites, to improve the Nike Mobile Applications, prevent or detect fraud or abuses of our EU Websites or Nike Mobile Applications and to enable third parties to carry out technical, logistical or other functions/tasks on our behalf.

Please note that we reserve the right to link personal data submitted by you on our EU Websites or via the Nike Mobile Applications with other personal data about you that other Nike Group Companies may have obtained via other Nike Sites.

Furthermore, we may use any information obtained about you via the Nike EU Websites to personalize your Nike site experience and to allow us (or our Nike Group Companies) to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you or our consumers in general are most interested to learn about, or in the communication with our consumers (e.g., via help chats).

We may disclose specific information upon governmental request, in response to a court order, when required by law or to protect our or others' rights, property or safety. We may share information to prevent illegal uses of the EU Websites or the Nike Mobile Appications or violations of the Terms of Use, or defend ourselves against third party claims. We may also share information with companies assisting us in fraud protection and/or investigation (e.g. counterfeiting). We do not provide these information to these agencies or companies for marketing or commercial purposes.

Sharing Information with the Nike Group Companies.

All data obtained by us via a Nike EU Website or via a the use of a Nike Mobile Application will be transferred to our Nike Group Companies in the USA, because the processing of your data takes place in databases in the USA. The Nike Group Companies in the USA adhere to the Safe Harbor principles. This means that an adequate level of privacy protection is provided.

We may share your personal data with Nike Group Companies to the extent this is necessary for the purposes for which you specifically submitted them.

Sharing Information with third party processors

For the purpose of operating our business, third parties (e.g. credit card companies, shipping companies, customer service providers) may process your data, however only to the extent this is necessary to conduct Nike business. We, or, if applicable, our Nike Group Companies, have procedures in place to ensure that these third party companies value your privacy.

We do not sell, trade, share or transfer your personal data to any outside parties other than Nike Group Companies and third party processors.

Social Platforms

Please note that, if you choose to select that option , your activity on the EU Websites or on or via the Nike Mobile Applications will also be made available to social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter,. Please read the privacy policies of those social platforms, because your EU Website (s) activities published on those platforms will no longer be governed by Nike's Privacy Policy.

Cookies and pixel tags

NIKE receives and records information from your browser when you use the Nike Sites and may use a variety of methods, such as cookies and pixel tags to collect this information. Cookies are pieces of information that the Nike EU Website sends to your computer while you are browsing the Nike EU Website. Cookies work in combination with content within the Website itself, to capture and remember information. For instance, cookies are used to remember and process the items in your shopping cart.

We use cookies and pixel tags (pixel tags are tiny graphic images) to track - in aggregate form only - our customer's site usage and understand our customer's preferences (such as country and language choices). This enables us to provide our customers with services or to improve the customer's site experience. We also use cookies and pixel tags to provide us with aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction, to identify trends and obtain statistics etc, so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may contract with third parties to assist us in gathering data, however, they are not permitted to use information collected except to help Nike conduct and improve its business.

Unsubscribing, removing or modifying your information.

To modify your (email or sms) subscriptions or to completely opt-out of receiving Nike communication, please let us know by modifying your preferences in the "view or change my profile" section of the any Nike EU Website. Please note that due to e-mail production and sms production schedules, you may still receive any mailings or sms that are already in production.

To delete all of your online Nike account information from our database, sign into the "view or change my profile" section of any Nike EU Website or Nike Mobile Application and click "delete my profile". Note that if you request your account information to be deleted from our database, we may maintain information about individual sales transactions in order to service that transaction or for record keeping. This information will not contain credit details.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post the changed policy on the Nike EU Websites or make such policy available via the Nike Mobile Applications. You are advised to regularly check whether our privacy policy has changed. This policy was last modified in January 2011.
